Tennacor is a leading provider of fire equipment, industrial supplies and project management to clients around the world.
Established in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1993, Tennacor is proudly ISO 9001:2015 certified and has an experienced team of professionals to get you the right product, when you need it, where you need it.
Tennacor was formed in 1993 to provide supply solutions of fire equipment, industrial supplies and project management to clients in Canada and around the world.
Early on, we worked with a Canadian manufacturer based in Calgary, Alberta to design, develop and supply firefighter turn-out gear (bunker gear) to the highest government and third party standards.
We successfully supplied this high quality, low cost and quick lead time turn-out gear to fire departments across Canada such as; City of Vancouver, City of Edmonton, City of Regina and numerous industrial clients and municipalities.
By the early 2000’s, we had seen a tremendous growth in our industrial client base such as Syncrude, Suncor, Shell, Dow, Nova, Petro-Canada and to be successful as a supplier we recognized the need for the timely supply of items with the highest standard of product integrity and traceability. This meant that we were involved in every step of the bidding, procurement and supply process.
Our expertise with the requirements of large end-user clients led us to bid on, and be awarded, turn key projects at Suncor Millennium and Suncor Firebag Stage 1. These projects included the installation of building and area fire protection systems utilizing market leading sub-contractors and our on-site management team to deliver the projects on time and on budget.
In 2006, our founder Lorne Annett retired after more than 35 years in the fire equipment and industrial supply industry. Lorne had established Tennacor Canada Inc. out of his home in 1993, following his experience as a Fire Protection Specialist for Safety Supply Canada and as a Branch Manager for Guillevin.
Lorne started Tennacor as a family business and it was a seamless transition to the new ownership of his sons Brad Annett and Scott Annett in 2006 as they continued the family legacy of honesty and integrity that are core values for Tennacor.
In 2011 we launched our first website, updated our logo and joined the Alberta Industrial Fire and Emergency Management Association (AIFEMA) as a vendor member. Around this time we also started working on international supply projects for clients in Europe and the Middle East by providing local and North American made fire equipment and industrial supplies.
In 2014 Tennacor added to our team by hiring a full time General Manager, Mr. Garret Thorne. Garret had previous industry experience and was able to provide immediate support and direction in many areas including helping us to achieve ISO 9001:2015 designation and certification in 2016.
We now celebrate over 25 years of continued service and thank everyone who has contributed to our success. We look forward to a bright future together. Thank you!
